If you were asked to describe the year 2016 in one word, what would it be? For those of us at Melden & Hunt, Inc., there are as many words to describe the year as there are people who make up this entire organization. And, while our responses would all be different, we continue to learn that it is not our differences that make us a team but the values we share as a company.
For example, the employees of Melden & Hunt, Inc. recently participated in the 12 Days of Giving, an initiative which began a year ago and is quickly becoming a tradition that is entirely employee led and driven. This year, our theme was The Value of Life.
The 12 Days of Giving was held December 1st through December 16th at which time newborn diapers and clothing were collected for the McAllen Pregnancy Center, a pro-life women’s clinic; toys and books were collected for Edinburg Children’s Hospital; and dog food, cat food and pet supplies were given to Cinderella Pet Rescue, a non-kill animal rescue center.
Always thankful for our rich history, present opportunities and future endeavors, Melden & Hunt, Inc., one of the longstanding engineering and surveying firms in the Rio Grande Valley, remains ever grateful for those who have been a part of our story – a story that has lasted nearly 70 years. And while there is no doubt that with the new year will come a new set of challenges, it will also arrive with renewed hope; hope for better days in which we all can remind ourselves of the values that make us more alike than different.
Happy New Year!
