MHI Employees Launch Annual Giving Initiative

For nearly 70 years, Melden & Hunt, Inc. has generously given their support to many non-profit organizations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.  And while the company continues to do so, it was this year that the employees of Melden & Hunt, Inc. launched an initiative called the 12 Days of Giving.  This initiative, entirely employee led and driven, was held November 30 through December 15, during which time food, toys and toiletries were collected for distribution to local organizations.

On Friday, December 18, the team of employees who organized and launched the 12 Days of Giving also took part in the delivery of the collected items.  Brittany Horden, MS, CCLS, Hospital Leader and Child Life Specialist at Edinburg Children’s hospital met the team to receive 80 children’s toys for those who will have to spend their Christmas Holiday in the hospital.

Brittany receives toy donations from many different individuals, businesses and organizations each year.  This year, MHI employees are grateful to have had the opportunity to help bring a smile to the faces of many children this Christmas.

All food and toiletries collected during the 12 Days of Giving initiative were given to Pharr Victory Home, where the team met Director Ricardo Pequeno who graciously received our donation of 129 food items and 183 toiletry items, including several blankets.  The toiletries will be for the men who are enrolled in the six month drug and alcohol rehabilitation program at Victory Home and the food will be used by Templo Victoria to prepare meals for the men in the program.
